COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS
Men’s Shelter Program
Our Men’s Shelter Program, through the lenses of Christianity, develops character, discipline, and freedom from addictions and poor behavior through intentional instructional, educational, and mentorship programs. We also use vocational training programs in cooperation with other institutions to foster the best opportunities for our men to succeed through independent living.

Women’s Shelter Program: Room at the Inn (R.A.T.I.)
We shelter and serve homeless single women and homeless women with 1-2 children ages newborn – 17 (newborn – 10 if boys). The structured program includes Bible study, work therapy, and Narcotics Anonymous/related activities (if applicable). We provide referrals to outside resources if needed. The Room at the Inn is under 24-hour supervision with a resident manager.

Food Programs
The Union Mission has two Bi-Monthly Food Programs and one Emergency Food Program. In partnership with the Food Bank of Central and Eastern NC as well as businesses, individuals, churches and civic groups, we are able to distribute fresh food to those in need.

Thrift Store and Clothing Store
The sale of used clothing, thrift items, and the recycling of well-used clothing generates funds for the operation of the Mission. Our Thrift Store carries household goods, toys, seasonal items, and medical supplies (i.e. walkers, adult diapers, assorted mobility devices). Our clothing store carries clothing, bedding, hosiery, shoes, and accessories.
